    Election Commission of Pakistan receives Rs18bn for elections following assemblies’ dissolution

    ISLAMABAD – The Election Commission of Pakistan[ECP] has received Rs18 bn for the upcoming elections in Punjab & KP.

    Sources said the ECP[Election Commission of Pakistan] received these funds for the purpose of holding timely elections in both provinces.

    Meanwhile, the election body has decided to send a new estimate over the likely spending. Sources said the general election’s expenses had increased by Rs10 bn due to the separate elections in 2 assemblies [KP & Punjab] & now the total cost of the elections as said by the ECP[Election Commission of Pakistan] would be Rs57 bn.
